How to Clean Boxing Gloves & Gear

Here at Combact, we know a thing or two about how to clean boxing gloves.

This quick guide equips you with the knowledge on how to deodorise and disinfect boxing gloves without damaging the materials, keeping them hygienically fresh.

Step 1: Effective Sanitising with the Antibacterial Sports Kit Spray

Bacteria thrive in sweaty environments, making your boxing gloves a breeding ground. Here's how to combat them with our boxing glove spray:

  1. Air Them Out: After training, let your gloves air dry completely in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. This eliminates moisture and prevents bacterial growth. You can also dry them with a soft, microfibre cloth to speed up the process.
  2. Targeted Mist: Once dry, lightly spray the inside and outside of your gloves with the Antibacterial Sports Kit Spray.
  3. Air Dry Again: Allow the gloves to air dry completely before storing them.
  4. Use Routinely: Incorporate this spray into your post work out routines to get the best results.

The Antibacterial Sports Kit Spray's secret engineering? A plant-based formula. It effectively eliminates bacteria, viruses, and fungus without harsh chemicals, keeping your gloves clean and safe for your skin. Most importantly, it won't damage any of your kit.

Step 2: Deodorising with the Sportswear Refresher

If your gloves and gear are smelling pretty bad, it's time to take action. Sweat may be inevitable, but lingering odours don't have to be. Here's how the Sportswear Refresher tackles bad smells:

  1. Shake it Up: Give the Sportswear Refresher a shake before use.
  2. Spray: Hold the bottle about 12 inches away and lightly mist the inside of your gloves, focusing on areas prone to odour.
  3. Air Dry Once More: Let the gloves air dry completely before storing them.
  4. Use when needed: The Sportswear Refresher has a lasting scent that doesn't instantly disappear. Use as and when you want to keep things smelling great.

The Sportswear Refresher utilises a unique formula that neutralises and eliminates odours quickly, leaving your gloves smelling like fresh laundry. Plus, its compact size makes it perfect for throwing in your gym bag for on-the-go freshening.

Pro Tips:

  • Skip the Sun: Excessive sun exposure can crack leather, so avoid drying your gloves in direct sunlight.
  • No Baking Soda or Vinegar: We've all heard how to wash boxing gloves the old fashioned way, but please don't do this.
  • Be Careful with Deodorising Inserts: Whilst inserts can sometimes be effective, they also reduce ventilation which can lead to bacteria growth. Some could also contain concerning chemicals or fragrances.
  • Little & Often: Keep on top of cleaning your gloves, and problems are unlikely to arise.

By following these simple steps you now know to clean the inside and outside of your boxing gloves and get them ready for your next training session.
